How can I protect my works on paper from light damage? Even though your artwork may be framed under UV filtering acrylic sheeting, the intensity of the light and duration of exposure is a concern. Try to avoid direct and excessive daylight. Close window curtains or drape the artwork when possible. Windows can also be covered with a film or a screen that will lower light intensity and ultraviolet rays. If possible take down the artwork periodically and exchange it with another piece, allowing the work to "rest" in storage. The most light-sensitive materials include watercolors and gouache, modern color inks, pastels, newsprint and all color papers. It is important to remember that light damage is cumulative and irreversible.. My solid wood sculpture is cracking in the vertical direction. What can I do?Q. I have an outdoor bronze sculpture. On view throughout the Museum are an especially varied range of objects, images, and room-sized installations, including masterworks by some of the most influential artists of the past forty years, dragonart along with an impressive number of recently acquired works by emerging artists. Open Ends includes eleven distinct exhibitions and ten large-scale works and installations that examine key themes and lines of affinity that define contemporary art and artists. The exhibition opens in three stages. Architecture Hot and Cold presents a wide range of images of architecture principally drawn from the Museum’s collections of photographs and architectural drawings. The exhibition includes works by architects including Archigram and Rem Koolhaas are shown alongside the photography of Andreas Gursky and Robert Adams, for example, as well as works in different media by artists such as Gordon Matta-Clark, Andy Warhol, and Joel Shapiro.
